My work began long before the lamps.

For years, I moved through abstract painting, interior design, and a range of creative disciplines—consistently drawn to form, light, and the quiet emotional presence a piece can hold within a space. These early explorations became the foundation of my artistic language, shaping a sensibility rooted in balance, atmosphere, and intention.

The lamps arrived later, though in truth, they had always been with me.

As a child, I would sit for hours, captivated by my grandmother’s lamps—their soft glow, their stillness, the way they seemed to hold light with a quiet elegance. There was a presence to them that felt almost intangible, yet deeply familiar.

Years later, following a pivotal moment in my life, I found myself returning to stillness in a different way. In those quieter spaces, a singular vision began to surface—repeatedly and with clarity. Lamps. Illuminated. Radiant. Light captured and refracted in a way that felt both personal and enduring.

I chose to follow that instinct.

When I discovered the first piece that resonated, the act of creating became something more refined—an unfolding rather than a search. What emerged was not simply a new medium, but a deeper understanding of how my work takes form.

This marked the beginning of DesignsBy108.

Each piece is guided by a thoughtful interplay of light, texture, and emotion. My process is both intuitive and deliberate, allowing each work to develop its own presence while remaining grounded in intention. There is a quiet dialogue between shadow and illumination—between what is revealed and what is suggested.

Each lamp begins with a distinct foundation.

Bases are thoughtfully selected and composed from wood, glass, and varied metals—each material chosen for its character, weight, and subtle history. No two are ever identical; each form carries its own presence, setting the tone for what the piece will become.

Czech Republic and Austrian crystals are intricately woven into every design, capturing and refracting light with quiet sophistication. Their brilliance is not merely decorative—it is transformative. Light shifts, softens, and awakens within each facet, creating a luminous interplay that evolves with its surroundings.

What begins as a singular object is elevated into something far more evocative—refined, radiant, and quietly unforgettable.

I have long been drawn to the vintage elegance of the 1920s and 1930s—an era defined by its quiet glamour, refined sensibility, and unwavering attention to detail. It was a time when craftsmanship was revered, and every element was considered with intention.

That influence remains deeply present in my work.

When selecting lamps, the process is never arbitrary. I do not seek them out—I wait for the pieces that resonate. Each one arrives with its own presence, history, and inherent character already intact. My role is not to impose, but to refine—to listen, to interpret, and to reveal what is already there.
